In a galaxy far, far away...
"We will not give our independence... Or we want everything for ourselves!"
By default, there is one natural enemy of the value receiver: the sports office. In David vs. Goliath fashion, we stand up to sledgehammer blows with a slingshot and win year after year. Of course, what kind of opponent is the one that stands up in the 10-game series and continues the same tactics? - That would be unrealistic, so here are some real examples of what the bookies have changed over the years against us value bettors:
1) Bet365 has introduced the Authenticator app.
Surely if you moved to Germany as a Hungarian, or worked there for a longer period of time, for example (but you could also say any other country), you got the "cheater" stamp. It was introduced that you could not stay outside the borders of your country if you wanted to bet. A bit absurd, isn't it? - We think it is. Of course, there was some basis for this: many people bought third-country identities, used them to place bets and opened new accounts. In other words, a foreigner would register themselves with Bet365 and an online wallet, sell their login details to, say, a Hungarian for a few hundred euros, and then the profits from the account would end up with the Western user after a transaction or two. Obviously, there have been cases like this, but Bet365 is a huge giant, a sportsbook that generates a significant part of Hungary's GDP, and even if a few percent of the bettors took advantage of loopholes, they still had plenty of profit. But their greed wouldn't allow them to tolerate this, they preferred to "screw" everyone.
2) They pay more attention to sporting events of lower class and liquidity.
For years, it was possible to make unimaginable amounts of money on low-class sporting events that were a miracle that there was a betting opportunity at all. The quality of the pitch was worse than a football pitch in a Hungarian village of less than 100 people, where even the spring pitch maintenance is not done. Obviously, with such absurd conditions, the sportsbooks were in a difficult position, it was much harder for them to predict the expected outcomes and we value bettors had a good world. There is still plenty of money to be made today, but then?
3) For Hungarians, several sites have discontinued the use of online wallets.
What do professional punters usually pay? - Well, with an online wallet. So what's the solution? "Let's lump everyone together and, if possible, take out the online wallet option for deposits".
4) Casino concessions have created a monopoly for the tip mixpro and to a lesser extent Vegas.
We don't want to get political, but Hungarian politicians in particular are "worth their weight in gold", regardless of side... How is it that no European country makes it impossible for its citizens to visit foreign sports clubs? There is a clear tax policy, it has to be complied with, as a host, as a bookmaker and that's it. You are free to choose where you bet, no opportunities are cut off or made difficult (indeed, our Austrian neighbours have tax-free gambling income by default)
We Hungarians, a narrow economic elite lobbied so much that they achieved: they completely reformed the casino and sportsbook industry, made spectacular enemies of foreign multinationals and tightened the requirements so much that almost no foreign sportsbook could or wanted to meet them. Quasi-regulations were made which the domestic Tippmix easily complied with, and the economic elite laid the foundations for its future for decades with outsourced casino concessions. Everyone but the bettors have benefited, competition has been eroded, quality has not improved and we, the bettors, do not get to decide where we want to bet in many cases. Once again, I emphasise: regardless of your political position, you SHOULD NOT be allowed to interfere in people's private lives to this extent, so let me decide where I spend my money or where I invest it.
5) They deliberately allow pseudo-news, "tip sites" targeting bettors to proliferate.
Obviously there is no direct evidence of this but it is so interesting that for example FANTA soft drink was able to get a consumer protection when the fruit content of the Hungarian market was less than the Western market (by the way, this was partially refuted by the manufacturer and was more of a communication gaffe) but there are countless absurd examples. Examples where consumer protection hits the producers with an iron fist, misleading advertising etc. Which is obviously good, but the question arises: what about the tip sites? 9 out of 10 national ads 'operate' with blatant lies and lure gullible bettors into subscribing with totally absurd numbers that CANNOT be backed up by evidence and financial statements. "Quick subscription, sudden riches." And these sites have revenues of hundreds of millions of dollars a month and many of them are not even registered as independent businesses. It's strange to me that they are not being tackled by the authorities, because they are constantly advertised on social media, it's unrealistic to me that they wouldn't get it.
If I use formal logic, it's either that they don't particularly care that they're scamming Hungarian bettors or - and I suspect this is what they are, I'll be honest - they're just that way, that they can only "gamble" their "tips" from dubious """" providers in the sports bars / casinos of the domestic economic elite anyway and if they lose - and it is likely that they will - it will only line the pockets of the "great lords". If you like, it even helps them to corner the market. It could be a win-win situation between the sportsbooks and the 'betting sites', except that there are three players in the model, in which the third player - the consumer, the bettor - does not benefit.

Despite all this, the situation is not bad at all!
In our joint podcast with László Hajka(?) we were talking about the fact that despite all the difficulties, last year brought us record profits in value capture. In addition, the winnings from the tip mixpro are no longer taxable, so there is a good thing, we should not be completely negative, in fact..
Sorry for the long introduction... Let's get to the point!
The basic concept is very simple: We use a main office, which is basically the Tippmixpro, we place a large part of our value bets here and we try to use the Tippmixpro, but there is another part of the bets: we place them in a so-called auxiliary or side office and send them out to our customers. Unfortunately recently - especially on weekends - more and more betting options have been missing from Tippmixpro and we have indeed been unable to send out many subsequently won value bets simply because they were not on Tippmixpro.
