Why serve if we are profitable value takers? Why do we need the money?

Many tipster sites avoid this issue and settle it with "there's never enough money", i.e. the more money coming in from more places the better, so they can't make a living from professional sports betting alone, but they sell their knowledge/tips because of human greed. Of course, this is not the real answer and usually if you read such things, you should take it with scepticism or at least due caution.
1) Natural barriers
To help you understand professional sports betting, I highly recommend my Las Vegas blog article (link) , in which I explained the limitations of professional sports betting. It is far from true to say that any amount of money can be wagered on sporting events, and especially not that sportsbooks allow people to win any amount of money, as they are trying to make it very difficult, if not impossible, for professional sports bettors to win. I am one of those professional sports bettors who would not have started a tipster service of their own accord. The only book I would have liked to write (which I am doing - it's called "12 Iron Laws of Sports Betting") which summarizes all the important aspects, be it the selection of profitable full-time (!) tipsters, the use of certain betting agencies, financial advice, etc. The book is still in the making, but as it stands it will be at least 155 pages long, so for those who want to do this on a very serious level, I recommend it as a "must".
...To return to the point: I will not make a statement that I cannot uphold or of which I am not convinced as to its veracity, but to the best of my knowledge I'm the only betting site/sports analytics platform operator who only started a paid service after reaching the peak of his sports betting career. As you may have read in the Las Vegas blog article, at the peak of my career I was betting with 600 Euro bets in Asian brokerages, and there is no European brokerage where I am not blacklisted. I've been banned from Bet365, Unibet, C-Bet, Malinasport, WilliamHill, 1Xbet, 22Bet etc etc. Specifically, they have imitated my accounts to allow me to place bets of 0.56 -1 Euro, which is obviously unrealistically low. This is what happens when someone 'pulls' thousands of Euros in profits from the bookmakers.
I'm not saying I've been completely out of the public eye, I've worked as a consultant or customer service manager for several sports analytics sites in addition to my own betting, so it's possible that if you read feedback on many betting sites that has either my first or last name, it's definitely me. If you've been following tipster sites for the last 5 years, you've most likely read my blog articles, and indirectly my work, as I've been involved with many full-time tipsters, and have sent out thousands of bets over the years, which you may have taken, but may not have known, as I've been working in the background.
After the European offices closed their doors to me, what could I do, I went to the Asian-style sportsbook sites. I have explained the difference between European and Asian sportsbooks in a separate blog article, please be sure to read it. Broadly speaking, the difference is that with the European sites (Bet365, Unibet, etc.), you can bet with smaller stakes (25-50 Euros, or 8 - 20e Ft is the recommended maximum stake) and get very nice results in a short time, even 8-15 stakes per month, while Asian sportsbooks (Pinnacle, Sbobet etc.) offer bigger stakes (hundreds of Euros), but only on mid to major league sports events, with less stakes and less profit. At the peak of my career, I was betting 600 Euros in Asian betting shops, mostly live tennis picks, which gave me 4-6 stakes per month, which was very good. That was until the pandemic and the coronavirus epidemic hit, which caused a series of professional bettors to leave the field and tournaments to be cancelled. It was a huge blow, because by the time you had a structure in place that worked even in Asian offices, which is a big deal, the virus hit. I was then forced to take a forced break and in those 1.5-2 years I decided to create my own tipster site, tailored to my needs.
Now, in the first quarter of 2024, I would say that betting in European and Asian offices is safe again, a lot of tipsters are back from the shutdown and I don't see a realistic risk of a repeat of the forced shutdown we had 2 years ago.
I lived off the market as long as circumstances allowed. To use a sports example, it's like going into coaching when you've already proven yourself as a professional footballer.
